Quercetin for Seasonal Allergic Rhinitis (Hay Fever)

Symptoms Studied

Seasonal allergy symptoms including sneezing, runny nose, nasal congestion, itchy eyes, and sleep disturbance during pollen season.

Research Hypothesis

Quercetin is a natural antihistamine and anti-inflammatory flavonoid that may stabilize mast cells and reduce allergic symptoms.

Intervention Tested

Quercetin Phytosome

200mg quercetin in bioavailable phytosome formulation, taken daily

Duration: 4 weeks

Study Results

Before Treatment

Adults experiencing pollinosis (seasonal allergic rhinitis) symptoms during allergy season.

After Treatment

Significantly improved scores on allergy quality of life questionnaire including eye itching, sneezing, nasal discharge, and sleep disturbances compared to placebo.
