Enteric-Coated Peppermint Oil for IBS Symptoms

Symptoms Studied

Belly pain, bloating, gas, and irregular bathroom habits. Symptoms get worse after eating.

Research Hypothesis

Peppermint oil relaxes gut muscles and can reduce cramping and pain from IBS.

Intervention Tested

Peppermint Oil (enteric-coated)

2 enteric-coated capsules (187mg peppermint oil each) three times daily, 30 minutes before meals

Duration: 4 weeks

Study Results

Before Treatment

Frequent stomach pain, uncomfortable bloating, and unpredictable bowel movements.

After Treatment

75% of people saw their symptoms cut in half. Less pain, less bloating, more regular.
