Omega-3 fats may reduce inflammation in the brain that contributes to anxiety.
Intervention Tested
Omega-3 Fatty Acids (EPA/DHA)
2.5g omega-3 daily (2085mg EPA, 348mg DHA), taken with meals
Study Results
Before Treatment
Mild to moderate anxiety symptoms, especially during stressful times like exams.
After Treatment
20% reduction in anxiety. Also lowered inflammation markers in the body.
Timeline to Improvement
Improvements observed by week 6-12 of consistent use
Side Effects
Fishy aftertaste, occasional stomach upset. Generally well tolerated.
