Symptoms Studied
Knee pain when walking or climbing stairs, morning stiffness, trouble with everyday activities.
Research Hypothesis
Curcumin from turmeric fights inflammation and may reduce joint pain naturally.
Intervention Tested
Curcumin (Curcugen extract)
500mg standardized curcumin extract (Curcugen) twice daily, taken with meals
Study Results
Before Treatment
Moderate knee pain and stiffness limiting daily activities and exercise.
After Treatment
Less knee pain, easier movement, better scores on walking and stair tests.
Timeline to Improvement
Improvements observed by week 4, with continued improvement through week 8
Side Effects
Generally well tolerated. Fewer stomach issues than anti-inflammatory drugs like ibuprofen.
