Collagen Peptides for Skin Elasticity and Hydration

Symptoms Studied

Loss of skin elasticity, dryness, fine lines, and visible signs of skin aging. Skin that feels less firm and supple than before.

Research Hypothesis

Oral collagen peptides may stimulate the body's own collagen production in the skin, improving elasticity and hydration from within.

Intervention Tested

Collagen Hydrolysate (Peptides)

2.5g to 5g collagen hydrolysate daily, taken orally

Duration: 8 weeks

Study Results

Before Treatment

Women aged 35-55 with visible signs of skin aging including reduced elasticity and skin dryness.

After Treatment

Skin elasticity showed statistically significant improvement in both dosage groups compared to placebo. Improvements in skin moisture were also observed.

Timeline to Improvement

Improvements observed by week 4, with continued benefit through week 8. Older subjects showed more pronounced improvement.

Side Effects

No adverse effects reported. Well-tolerated at both dosage levels.
